D-Modern

D-Modern@ShellWeDance

In the demo group modern it’s about the performer. During the lesson on Monday (19.00-20.30) it’s about how the performer interprets the exercises and choreographies rather than the form. We work on technique, but put more emphasis on┬áchallenging the performer to find a sincere, honest, genuine transfer of the dance. The performers create a lot of material by themselves which in turn will be improved and used for the choreographies. This is to enhance their dance, the performers will be challenged to develop their own signature.

Teacher Kevin Ruijters has graduated from the Fontys Dance Academy and has developed an interest during his trial for the floorwork technique and leans toward dance-theatre in the modern dance-style, (Technical) exercises are therefore based on these techniques.

Once every semester, usually right at the start, you can do auditions for D-Modern.
