The Showcase
2026 Edition: "Celestia" - TICKETS OPEN!
In this lustrum (anniversary) edition of our annual showcase, TSDV DanceNation presents Celestia – inspired by the idea of dancing among the stars. This year’s theme brings celestial energy to the stage, drawing on concepts such as gravity, constellations and radiance to create a night of movement and momentum.
What is the Showcase?
This is our big show at the end of the year (the ‘Showcase’) which brings different levels and dance styles together under one theme which acts as the storyline of the show and is also the title of the Showcase. All of our members, from beginners to advanced, get the opportunity to share a stage and get the chance to showcase (see what we did there 🫣) their hard work, talent and dance qualities throughout the year. There are also ‘own contributions’ being performed which are pieces made by our members such as solos, duets, trios and group pieces which our members practice outside of regular classes to perform at the Showcase along with the regular classes!

When & where does it take place?
It takes place in the second semester of the academic year towards the middle of May. This is however not always the case, so please be sure to check our Instagram (@tsdvdancenation) and this page to see the exact date.
It always take place in a professional theatre with a big stage and audience! Exciting! The exact location will be given once everything is set!
How many pieces are in it?
Each one of our classes performs and some members have their own dance pieces which they audition beforehand to perform in the show, so we have a large number of pieces. In 2025 , our Showcase contained 27 pieces and lasted 1.5 hours.
Why are there two days?
The Showcase takes place over two days but both days contain the same content. The two days serve as a way for every audience member to be able to come see the show by giving two days as an option. As an audience member, you are more than welcome and we would be ecstatic to have you come to both days! (Note: All of our dancers will be/have to be present on both days)
Who organises it?
It is organised every year by the Showcase Committee which is usually led by the AC-Functionary. The committee works together with the Artistic Director who oversees everything and gives artistic advice, who is chosen by the Board and the Committee .

Why is our Showcase so special?
It is a great opportunity for our young teachers and choreographers to express their creativity and ideas through a choreography that they can show to a large and wide audience. It is all of our members’ opportunity to shine as dancers and show that besides their studies, they are also creative, energetic and lovers of dance. The Showcase attracts people who are close to our members, such as family and friends, and also creates awareness for our association among the large student population Tilburg and shows everyone the value of dance with all the work and art behind it.
How do our dancers get ready?
Throughout the year our dancers and you can follow the dance classes in the Sports Center and then choose with which classes you want to perform in the Showcase. Around 5 to 6 weeks before the Showcase, all the dance classes close so that those who want to perform in the Showcase can start training with the final number of people who will be in that dance class on stage. In addition to the regular classes you follow, you can also audition to perform with your own choreographies. Through these contributions, we get even greater diversity in dance styles and more chances to show our authenticity.
